Crystal Suite Enables Matic Integration into Spells of Genesis

Spells of Genesis

As the first blockchain-based mobile game ever made, Spells of Genesis (SoG) combines trading card game (TCG) functionalities with the point-and-shoot aspects of arcade games. It was launched in April 2017 after a successful crowdfunding campaign ran in 2015.

Blockchain Integration

Spells of Genesis is the first game ever to integrate blockchain aspects into its gameplay. Already two years before the game release, EverdreamSoft (EDS) started issuing limited editions of blockchain tokens representing collectible cards, later on playable in SoG. These rare collectibles, first of its kind, have raised a huge interest within the budding community of blockchain enthusiasts.

Currently there are about 400 different blockchain cards, based on Counterparty (Bitcoin blockchain), which was the most advanced and appropriate technology in the beginnings of SoG.

Recently EverdreamSoft has announced a big move: Spells of Genesis Going on Ethereum!

EDS is going to launch the sale of their “Blockchain History” limited card series on Ethereum very shortly. The cards were specially selected for the occasion because of their great narrative and historical value.

Matic Integration

In 2019, EverdreamSoft (EDS) started building tools allowing game developers and users to answer a very simple question: “What game assets does a player own?”.

While it may be simple to answer when you are using only one smart contract on Ethereum blockchain, it becomes very tricky once the asset is bound to multiple contracts and/or multiple chains. EDS is now releasing the first version of their toolset – Crystal Spark (part of Crystal Suite) – while using it in Spells of Genesis.

By integrating only a few lines of the code, SoG allows players to use their game assets, whether they own them on Ethereum mainchain, Matic sidechain or Spells of Genesis historic blockchain: Counterparty.

EverdreamSoft wants to give game developers the ability to integrate blockchains and sidechains into their game without needing to write the blockchain specific code. Thus it allows their users to move their assets easily on the sidechain as they wish for cheap and reliable transactions.

At the same time, users get a simple and clear view on their holdings and transaction history, across multiple chains.

Why Matic?

EverdreamSoft is integrating Matic Network to Scale SoG using its Layer 2 Scaling Solution.
